Recent Snow
After a particularly dry February and March, we had two significant snowstorms in April that brought much-needed moisture to the ranch. Our precipitation is now just above average after all the heavy, wet spring snow we had (close to 3 feet in mid-April and about 18 inches in late April). Owl barn looked spectacular as always against the snowy white of the Sangre de Cristos. Last weekend’s snow melted quickly as soon as the sun came out and temperatures are now around 70 degrees.
Today, the hay fields are a rich deep green and we expect the aspens and cottonwoods to start leafing out soon. Heavenly spring on the ranch!
